Her Head Stone reads Jae Lynn Russell, October 3,1987-March 18,2004
It's that dash in the middle that makes me so fasinated with life.
I wish you could have known Jae Lynn, she was muchh more than some dash between birth and death. She is UNFORGOTTEN.
People now ask why I won't move on, but how can you when you miss someone so much.
She was an awesome cheerleader and loved the LORD so very much.
She had two joys in her life, other than her family and friends, one was going on a fishing trip and the other was cheering as loud as she could.
How she loved life more than most and never took anything for granted.
I try to think what Heaven is like with her there walking with Jesus. I believe it has a huge river where she can stick her little fishing pole and on the other side have somewhere where she can cheer all day long.
One other thing that I remember about her is GONE FISHIN 3/18/04
Yes she has gone on the greatest fishing trip ever with Alicia and Taylore where she is going to meet Kyle and Sam along the way.
This is a poem that I wrote in honor of Jae Lynn from the little joys in her life. She will greatly be missed.

ALL MEN ARE LIARS

JAE AND JON

JAE LYNN played softball (fast-pitch) but she found that it interfered too much with the main sport of Cheerleading so she quit. She once was on this team in Sherwood called "The Sluggers". It was her first year as fast-pitch and she wasn't very good even at slow pitch. Anyway, somehow, she landed on this wonderful talented highly competitive team. Was she intimidated by all th other players skill? Nope. Even though each one of the players were 1000 times better than her. She was a faithful player even tho she was not anywhere near their level of competitveness and skill. The coaches of "The Sluggers" were great with her, realizing that they could bench her OR they could try to teach her to rise to their level. Well, she never got as good as any of those players, but the other girls and coaches were always positive and encouraging to her even when she struck out time after time after time after time......you get the picture. :) And then,...there were those fly balls. It was comical the way she would call it and scream "I GOT IT!!!" and then it would drop 25 feet behind her. Finally during one of the last games of the season, she actually caught ONE. Pandemoniuum broke out at the Sherwood Ballpark!! You would have thought Babe Ruth had just hit a home run the way everyone cheered because Jae Lynn Russell of "The Sluggers" had FINALLY caught a ball! The real beauty and lesson for all of us from that ball season was all about taking care of the weakest among you. They were always building her up. Never once did anyone talk down to her for her lack of talent or skill. (They did occassionally get her for daydreaming or talking to boys over the fence). I miss her so badly. There are no words for a loss this big.FROM MRS. BECKY

I don't know and I can't see Why'd you take her instead of me How could you take her to The very place I want to be? You crossed the finish line. You ran the good race first. No more fighting, you've been through the worst. You crossed the finish line. You ran the good race first. No more fighting sin's cold dead curse. Oh how I, I miss you It seems our friendship here is through But when I, when I die It will start again brand new You crossed the finish line. You ran the good race first. No more fighting, you've been through the worst. You crossed the finish line. You ran the good race first. No more fighting sin's cold dead curse. I can't wait for the day When we'll laugh, run and play Hide and seek under the shade Like the good old days You crossed the finish line. You ran the good race first. No more fighting, you've been through the worst. You crossed the finish line. You ran the good race first. No more fighting sin's cold dead curse
